WORCESTER COFFEE CUP 1750s

A superb example of early English porcelain, this beautiful coffee cup arrived in the studio desperately needing some attention.

Treatment

Once all rivets and previous restoration materials were removed, break edges and rivet holes were thoroughly cleaned and sections assembled. The firing crack on the base still shows as it is original to the object.

All break-lines, rivet holes, and rim losses were colour-filled tightly to the areas of loss, matching porcelain's colour and translucency.

Fine enamel decoration was hand-retouched with high-quality acrylic mediums to integrate the fills and bring the cup back to its former glory.
